The Fellowship Cruisers of Mills County
On a cold January day, a local car enthusiast placed an ad in the Goldthwaite Eagle newspaper. The ad said: "Anyone interested in organizing a car club please meet at Peabody's Restaurant on Friday January 9th at 7:00 pm."
To his amazement, thirty nine people showed up! Within forty five minutes, the group had elected temporary officers, established a meeting place, and had passed the hat for start up funds. Thus, "The Fellowship Cruisers" were born!
In less than one year, "The Fellowship Cruisers" have forty nine members, a logo, a permanent meeting place, established non profit status, a club motto that everyone is proud of, and on Saturday, May 9, 2009, had their first annual "Fun In The Park Car Show" with approximately 172 participating cars and a park full of spectators!
Since then "Fellowship Cruisers" have been involved in several local charity and fund raising events, cruising to many local car shows, eateries, and local attractions.
The latest and greatest accomplishment of the "Fellowship Cruisers" is the establishment of a scholarship fund for hard working students in our county.
The Fellowship Cruisers Motto: "We stand united for the preservation of collector cars with good, clean fellowship and a wholesome family atmosphere."
